Powhatan band still needs clarinets

POWHATAN, VA (WWBT) - Powhatan students will travel to Charlottesville tomorrow to compete at Monticello High School.

Last weekend, a fire destroyed tens of thousands of dollars worth of uniforms and equipment for the band.

As of late Thursday band director, Scott Gordon, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch they have nearly everything for tomorrow's competition, but they are short just a couple of clarinets. He tells the paper the big challenge tomorrow might be more psychological than musical.

If you'd like to help the band, you can call Powhatan High School at 598-5710.
