150 acres of swampland now belongs to VCU

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - VCU now owns a lot of swampland along the James River.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the 150 acres in Eastern Chesterfield County, will give scientists and students a new environment to conduct research.

Half the land is swamp, and the rest is forest.

Scientists will study bald eagles, songbirds, and wildflowers that are known to live on the property.

An environmental group donated the land.
