Attempted robbery in Chesterfield leaves one hospitalized

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) – It was a scary situation for two men in Chesterfield after two gun wielding thieves attempted to rob them overnight.

It happened at the Falling Creek Apartments just after midnight.

Police say the men were outside an apartment when two other men approached with guns and demanded money.

According to police one of the victims attempted to go inside the apartment to retrieve his cash when he was shot in the rear.

Police say the suspects then fled with nothing.

The injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

No suspects have yet been identified and no arrests have been made.
