RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The American Civil War Center and National Park Service are expected to announce a special partnership  at a news conference Wednesday in Richmond.

The two organizations are teaming up to mark the 150th anniversaries of the Civil War and the Emancipation of slaves.

They say they want to inform visitors to the Richmond area of the key role the capital city played in both historic events.

Part of the presentation is intended to launch a new web site to guide visitors.

The American Civil War center overlooks the James River near Brown's Island, and the center strives to tell all sides of the Civil War.
