RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The University of Richmond won it's first football game on campus in 82 years as the Spider beat the Elon Phoenix 27-21 in overtime Saturday.
Richmond scored with 1:41 to go ahead 21-14 in regulation only to see Elon come back and score as time expired to make it 21-21.
The Spiders blocked a field goal attempt in overtime and then took just three plays to get into the end zone to earn the win.
This was the first game at Robins Stadium after playing for many years at City Stadium in Carytown. The stadium was packed for the close game, which was tied 14-14 at halftime.
