Brandermill mailbox meeting postponed

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The Brandermill Community Association meeting scheduled for Friday night to discuss the new mailboxes has been postponed.

Association president, Joyce Rowe, said it was postponed because of the limited space at Harbour Pointe Club and the football game between Clover Hill and Cosby high schools.

The board is making arrangements for resident input and discussion at a future meeting.

Some residents became outraged when the neighborhood association decided each home in Brandermill must get new mailboxes that cost $155.

It prompted a few neighbors to spray paint their mailboxes yellow in protest.

Rowe told NBC12 that some members of the board thought a number of residents wanted to update and upgrade their mailboxes.

Yellow mailboxes are in violation of the community policy and residents could receive violation notices.

At least one resident has already received one of those violation notices.

A committee has been formed to evaluate costs, vendors and a timeframe for the new boxes.
