RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A religious coalition is leading a petition to oppose Governor Bob McDonnell's plan to privatize the state's liquor stores.
According to the Times-Dispatch, the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy argues that privatization is risky for the state in that it puts at risk a reliable revenue source.
They also argue it's risky for communities in that the sources of liquor sales might triple.
The Virginia Interfaith Center represents more than 20 faith traditions including, Christians, Jews, Muslims and Hindus.
