RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The man the FBI is calling the Granddad Bandit is back in Virginia.

Michael Mara, 52, is accused of robbing 25 banks in 13 states, including locations in Richmond and Glen Allen.

He waived extradition weeks ago after his capture in Louisiana, but only arrived in Virginia on September 1.

He makes his first court appearance at the downtown Richmond Federal Courthouse Friday morning.

If convicted on one of the robberies in Virginia, Mara faces 20 years in prison.
