HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - A Henrico man faces several charges of vandalism and fraud related to the theft of electric utility meters.

Walter L. Miles, 26, of North Laburnum Avenue, was arrested on 12 charges Tuesday afternoon. Police say the thefts occurred on several occasions, dating back to June 1.

Police say the power was disconnected at Miles' residence for failing to pay the bill. Once Dominion Virginia Power removed the meter, police say Miles would take a meter from a vacant apartment and reconnect power to his residence.

The charges include four counts of tampering with a public utility, four counts of vandalism, one count of fraud, two probation violations, and a contempt of court charge in Charles City County.
