NBC12 newsroom standings: Twitter follow list

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Ryan Nobles was the first newsroom staffer to get on board with the popular social media tool Twitter, so naturally he is the atop the NBC12 leaderboard for the most followers.

Ryan sticks mostly to politics and breaking news and often uses Twitter while he anchors, encouraging his followers to interact with him and comment on the stories covered during  newscasts.

Our Number 2 Gene Cox tends to bring wisdom, wisecracks and daily observations while occasionally acting as an ombudsman of sorts for news media.

Rachel DePompa's Richmond beat is her main Twitter topic, but watch out if she catches wind of some juicy Redskins news.

First Warning Weather mainstays Andrew Freiden and Jim Duncan round out the top five. They mainly stick to weather as you'd expect, but they don't normally toss the daily forecast out there.  Often, weather wisdom and insight drives their typical tweets.

The main station Twitter handle is @NBC12, which focuses on breaking news and station information.  It is also a feed for our NBC12 Facebook page.
