RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Crooks nearly clean out some residents on the VCU campus as they make off with hundreds of dollars in expensive electronics. It happened on the 1600 block of West Main Street sometime this weekend.

There's no sign of a break-in at the home which is in Richmond's Fan District, but inside, the people who live here are still a bit shaken up. Only one of the 5 roommates that live here was home this afternoon but he was too afraid to even tell us much about what happened.

Sometime between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon someone broke into the home and made off with valuable electronics. According to a police report the burglars stole a laptop, cell phone, camera, backpack, two video game systems, video games and cash. The resident we spoke with did not want to appear on camera because he and his roommates are afraid the crooks might come back.

This robbery comes as students head back to school at VCU. The home is just blocks away from the campus. It's not clear at this time how the crooks got in or if any of the doors on this home were unlocked.
