HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – All lanes of Parham Road have been re-opened after a two vehicle accident shut down most of the street for several hours Sunday morning.
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. just south of the Parham, I-64 interchange.
Police say an SUV came off the interstate and collided with a sedan while merging on to Parham.
Police say the car struck the median and flipped several times.
The driver of that vehicle was ejected; one other passenger was trapped inside.
Both were taken to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries. Police say no one in the SUV was hurt.
Southbound lanes and all but one northbound lane of Parham Road were closed while crash team investigators cleared the scene.
Police say alcohol and speed are not factors in this accident.
No charges have yet been filed.
