Posted by Iva Radman – email

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - There's a lot of construction right now around the VCU campus as students start their semester Thursday, and come this time next year, students will have some unique options when it comes to  housing.

The Times-Dispatch reports a private developer is building an eight-story apartment building off of Canal Street.

Gilbane Development is building 160 apartment units on six levels, and parking on two levels.

The CEO says when complete, the rooms will be completely furnished with flat-screen televisions, washers and dryers, and full kitchens.

Rents will be between $600 to $700 per person.
