Richmond Police do neighborhood walk-throughs

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - In Richmond, police officers are going to door to door in Ginter Park, trying to crack down on crime.

Our cameras were there as Chief Bryan Norwood led officers in a community walk on Monday. They talked with people about their concerns and stressed the importance of keeping tabs on young people in the neighborhood, so they stay out of trouble.

People we spoke with were glad to see officers in their neighborhood.

The walk through is a monthly effort by the police department to show a police presence in troubled areas.
