Despite rain, water restrictions possible for Lake Chesdin

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The rains last week made an impact, but mandatory water restrictions are still a possibility for some in the Appomattox River watershed.

According to the Appomattox River Water Authority, last week's rain raised levels at Lake Chesdin by six inches -- the biggest increase this summer. Still if there's a one-foot decrease in lake levels, water restrictions would be required.

People in Chesterfield, Petersburg, Hopewell, Dinwiddie and Prince George get their water from Lake Chesdin.
