CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield leaders are looking for your input before they decide if county's "fee holiday" will last longer. Tuesday evening you can voice your opinion on this fee holiday.

The county waived thousands of dollars in fees, hoping small businesses would come to the county, but it didn't happen.

Now leaders must decide if this fee holiday will be extended. The fee holiday ran from September of last year until July.

High construction costs and fewer investors could be the reason businesses aren't interested right now.

Despite that, the Chamber of Commerce wants the fee holiday extended for another year.

There will be a public meeting Tuesday evening to talk about extended this fee holiday.

That will happen at the Government Complex at 6 pm. The Board of Supervisors has the final say on this idea.
