Police seek suspect in deadly hit-and-run

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – One man is dead following a hit-and-run accident Saturday night.

Around 11:00 p.m. police say 42-year-old Alberto M. Tobar was crossing Broad Rock Blvd. near Welford Ave. when he was hit by an SUV.

Tobar was taken to VCU Medical Center where he later died. Police describe the suspect vehicle as a dark blue or dark green Chevrolet Suburban.

It was last seen heading into Chesterfield and is suspected of having front-end damage.

Police urge anyone with information about the crash or who may have seen the driver or vehicle to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
