HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The man accused of killing his girlfriend's son was back in a Henrico County court-room Friday.

After two and a half hours of testimony from several witnesses, a judge found enough evidence to certify a charge of second degree murder against Kevin Lucas.

Kevin Lucas was originally charged with first degree murder.

Back in April, three-year-old Christian Stephens was found dead in Lucas' apartment.

Through his attorney, Lucas denied responsibility for the child's death.
