RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Some restaurants were reminded to keep things clean and organized in their kitchens in this Restaurant Report. And we're going to show you how to get a three course meal for $30!

Starting in Chesterfield, Waffle House at 3500 Speeks Drive had 4 critical violations. The inspector said the ice machine interior storage bin and deflector had mold growth and grime. It was corrected on the spot along with the other violations. A follow-up inspection report is not yet available. A manager declined to comment for our report.

Moving to Richmond, Glenn's Friends at 1509 Chamberlayne Avenue had 5 critical violations. The report says iced tea dispensers and utensils were soiled to sight and touch. Violations were corrected during the inspection and the restaurant earned a perfect score on a follow-up inspection. We contacted the restaurant but did not receive comment.

And back in Chesterfield, Cesare's Restaurant at 13301 Rivers Bend Boulevard had 5 critical violations. The inspector noted that raw chicken was stored in a manner that could cause cross contamination of ready-to-eat food. Cesare tells us all violations were corrected on the spot and that they keep the kitchen exceptionally clean. A follow-up report is not yet available.

The NBC 12 Hall of Fame Award goes to Hanover Café at 13185 Hanover Courthouse Road in Hanover. The café has earned perfect scores on its last four health inspections in a row. Co-owner Wayne Pierce attributes it to a "good crew, good solid 115 years of experience in the kitchen. They know their way around, and they know how clean it is."

And check out Sampling Shockoe this week through Sunday. Restaurants in Shockoe, like Morton's Steakhouse, invite you to sample their cuisine. A three course meal is $30.

Said Annmarie Grohs with Morton's Steakhouse, "We're in a great part of town that has a great amount of restaurants and really just want to work on getting people downtown and realize what's here. We've been here for seven years, and not everyone knows we're on this little corner, so it was a great reason to jump into it."

You'll find more info and a list of participating restaurants through this link.
