RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Chesterfield Health Department has gotten tough with another restaurant, asking for an action plan to correct repeat violations.

In Chesterfield, Lung Wah at 6415 Ironbridge Road had 6 critical violations on two inspections in a row, including that an employee failed to wash their hands before engaging in food preparation. The Chesterfield Health Department says Lung Wah's owner/operator met with them and they discussed an action plan to correct the violations and operate the restaurant according to state regulations. We contacted the restaurant but did not receive comment.

In Richmond, Sandra's Soul Food at 1800 Fairmount Avenue had 6 critical violations. The inspector wrote that an employee was smoking in an area were they may contaminate food, clean equipment, utensils or other items needing protection. The manager says smoking is not allowed in that storage area. He says he closed the restaurant for two days to clean and had all critical violations corrected for a follow-up inspection a week later.

In Henrico, Bakery Art Mediterranean Cuisine at 1404 North Parham inside the Regency Square Mall had 7 critical violations. The report says raw hamburger and chicken were stored above ready-to-eat lettuce. The restaurant had them all corrected for a perfect score on the follow-up inspection two weeks later. We reached out to the restaurant, but it did not comment for our report.

This week's NBC 12 Hall of Fame Award goes to Little Caesars Pizza at 321 North Arch Road in Chesterfield after earning perfect scores on the last five out of six health inspections. Said General Manager Benjamin Campbell, "Keeping things clean is one of our top priorities. We follow several different cleaning checklists and make sure our staff our really well trained."
