RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Several Southside Richmond streets will start getting makeovers. It's all part of the city's 5-year plan to get the city's infrastructure back up to par.

Belvidere, Cumberland, and Monument have already received touch-ups and new pavement this year.

And now the work is moving to parts of Forest Hill Avenue, Decatur, Maury and Bainbridge.

The month long work will cost $500,000.

The city says they are working to make sure this repaving project only causing a few problems for your commute, there will be some lane closures from time to time.

The city will also be repaving other roads in the city between now and the end of October, then they will start up again next spring.
