RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Attorneys for the man accused of killing eight people in Appomattox want video of their client from the jail.

Christopher Speight's attorneys have asked for surveillance video and recorded phone calls to support claims that he is insane.

Speight is charged with capital murder in the deaths of his sister, her family and four family friends.

Doctors at a psychiatric hospital in Petersburg are currently trying to restore Speight to competency so he can stand trial.
