Brother of escapee goes on trial in Rockingham County

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Trial began today for a Chesterfield man accused of helping his brother plan a jail escape that led to two slayings.

Michael Morva is charged with conspiring to help his brother, William, escape in August of 2006.

It ultimately led to two murders and a manhunt that shut down Virginia Tech.

William is now on death row for capital murder convictions.

Michael Morva's trial was moved from Montgomery County to Rockingham County.
