RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Federal prosecutors want Donald Lacey, 42, to spend 10 years in prison for running an elaborate ponzi scheme.
Prosecutors said the former Henrico police officer bilked more than 150 investors out of millions of dollars.
The U.S. Attorney's Office called Lacey's actions deplorable.
Lacey's attorney is asking the judge for a lighter sentence of four to six years.
Lacey lives in Hanover County. A federal judge will sentence Lacey Tuesday.
