RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Today is the last day you can summit comments to the Department of Environmental Quality about bacteria problems in the James River.

The DEQ is trying to come up with a plan to fix the problem and its expected to cost anywhere from $250 to $300 million.

Over a month ago, the DEQ issued a warning about Gillies Creek carrying sewage and Ecoli bacteria into the James.
