RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Port of Richmond will get some major relief today.
According the Richmond Times-Dispatch, it will receive a $1 million loan from the city to maintain its operation until at least the spring.
The loan was approved by City Council this month and the goal is to give the port enough time to find a new operator at a better price.
The Port of Richmond commission also has the option of leasing the operation on the James River to the state.
