CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Several changes are coming to Chesterfield's convenience centers that could affect you. The county reports receiving calls about pre-paid cards that expired June 30.
Chesterfield is not giving refunds, saying the expiration date was clearly marked on the application and the card.
"If we get the revenue one year and the fiscal year ends June 30 and they use the card the following year, the cost of disposal and all that we have to pay is no longer in our budget," said Charles Dane with Chesterfield County.
The county takes debt and credit cards so the prepaid cards will no longer be sold. Also, the two drop-off locations are open five days a week rather than seven.
The cost to dump items has dropped by a $1 to $7. If you have questions about the changes call 748-1297.
