UPDATE: Substance deemed safe in West End suspicious envelope scare

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Henrico police said that initial test results from the lab were negative for dangerous substances after a report of suspicious substances in envelopes mailed to an office in Henrico County's West End.

The lab has swabbed the envelopes and will grow cultures to make sure. The Henrico bomb squad investigated a report of suspicious packages Tuesday at a lawyer's office in the 4500 block of Cox Road. Suspicious envelopes from Connecticut and Massachusetts were mailed there.

Henrico police and the bomb squad examined the envelopes and assessing the building to see if there is a possible threat. The building was evacuated.
