RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - After a Chesterfield restaurant had multiple critical violations on two inspections in a row, the Chesterfield Health Department asked the operators to show them an action plan as to how they will prevent these violations in the future.
Lin's Garden Restaurant at 4201 Beulah Road in Chesterfield had 10 critical violations on a health inspection. Among them, the report says methods were not being used to control pests.
The restaurant had 7 critical violations on a follow-up inspection two weeks later. Finally, on another re-inspection, the restaurant had all critical violations corrected. The manager tells us they are meeting with county health officials to make sure they prevent future violations.
In Richmond, Curbside Café at 2525 Hanover Avenue had 5 critical violations, including that potato salad, pork, and chicken were cold holding at improper temperatures. All violations were corrected during the inspection. A follow-up inspection report is not yet available. We contacted the restaurant, but did not receive comment.
In Henrico, Melito's at 8815 Three Chopt Road had 5 critical violations. The inspector noted that food particles were on the slicer from the previous day. Violations were corrected during the inspection. A follow-up report is not yet available.
Eating barbecue can be messy, but this is one clean barbeque restaurant. Alexander's BBQ Restaurant and Catering at 1126 Westbriar Drive in Henrico has been in business for 21 years and earned perfect scores on its last five health inspections in a row.
Owner Dan Alexander says they are motivated to keep things clean. Said Alexander, "Very important. We see NBC 12 on Thursday nights doing this and we look forward to seeing something like this. It's important because we have an open kitchen. People can see into our kitchen, so that's one of the reasons we keep it extra clean."
