Petersburg schools hope to boost student achievement

PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - The Petersburg School Board approved a contract with a group  that aims to boost student achievement Wednesday night.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch the three-year contract with Cambridge Education will allow them to lead programs at Peabody Middle School and Vernon Johns Junior High School.

Their goal will be to close achievement gaps, attain state and Federal benchmarks and increase the high school's on-time graduation rate.
