UPDATE: Fire under control at Chesterfield Towne Center

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Everything is now back to normal after a fire at around 3:30 p.m. today at the Chesterfield Towne Center prompted an evacuation at the mall.

It all started in the former Dillard's store but smoke spread to the rest of the mall.

A welding machine started a fire a part of the mall was under renovation, according to officials with the Chesterfield Fire Department.

Fire is under control and authorities are airing out the building.

No injuries were reported.
