RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Richmond is a giving community. We give more in donations of money and time than many cities of our size.

Some of these donations make the headlines when a company or foundation gives a big check.  Most of the time though the donations are private. Usually someone helping their favorite charity, school or church with a modest donation of money or volunteer time.

And then there are the everyday acts of kindness. People helping friends and even helping complete strangers in need of a little lift to get on their feet. It happens every day and we would like to honor that spirit.

This week we've started a segment called 12 0n Your Side Acts of Kindness.

Each week Sabrina Squire will introduce you to a local person helping a neighbor, friend or even a stranger. Sabrina will be putting money in the hands of people who will know how to pass it on to improve someone's life.

We hope you will find it to be uplifting and inspirational. For more information or to find out how you can help someone.
