RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Nearly 200 students from across Virginia gathered at Virginia State University this week for the 2010 Hispanic Youth Symposium.
The four-day event is designed to empower Hispanic youth to reverse the high school drop-out rate in the Hispanic community.
According to the Virginia Department of Education, the dropout rate for Hispanics was 19 percent for the 2009 graduating class.
Yesterday, Governor Mcdonnell spoke to the students and urged them to dream big.
