HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - A woman faces a charge of child abandonment following an incident that police say took place Monday evening.

Tuak Ngun, 30, has been arrested and charged with child abandonment.

At approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to a house in the 9100 block of Patterson Avenue in reference to a child left unattended. A witness told police the child had been "left outside all day."

Police located the boy, 7, who then led officers to his address. According to police, as officers attempted to make contact with the boy's parents, Ngun returned home.

Police say Ngun left the home at approximately 8 a.m. that morning looking for work, and had not returned until she came into contact with the officers that evening.
