RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Richmond postal carrier is in trouble with the federal government after admitting to dumping more than 100 pieces of mail in a dumpster in Mechanicsville.

Michael Wayne Palmore, a postal worker at the East End Post Office in Richmond, admitted to dumping 129 mailers on June 3, according to the Office of the Inspector General, which handles federal investigations.

Investigators say no one's personal information was found in the stack of dumped mail.

Palmore was in Federal Court this morning on a charge of obstruction of mail.  His arraignment was set for August 31 at 10 a.m.

An anonymous tip to a federal hotline sparked the investigation.
