As of 10:30 a.m., the line to enter the building was still around the corner.
Jobs these days are hard to come by, and when one opens up hundreds of people apply. Chesterfield firefighters have about 20 open positions right now, but more than 300 people have already applied.
Before the fair started this morning, NBC12 was told to expect those kinds of numbers at Tuesday's job fair.
More than 90 companies will be in attendance this year. Those companies range from public service jobs with the Chesterfield and Henrico Fire Departments to the private sector with jobs at CarMax, Walmart, to jobs with the Federal government.
Some companies we've talked with are saying things are looking better today than in recent memory and they are actually looking to hire.
The job fair began at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning and will go until 2 p.m..
