POWHATAN, VA (WWBT) - Leaders in Powhatan are holding off on a decision to build the county's first Walmart.
The Board of Supervisors is trying to decide whether to let the retail giant build a store on a 34 acre plot of land on Route 60.
Community members who are opposed to the superstore were concerned about rising crime and traffic. Those who are in favor believe this opportunity will create more jobs and revenue for Powhatan county.
After nearly three hours of pubic comment, the board postponed a decision until further notice.
