Ambulance driver charged with aggravated assault

FLUVANNA COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - A member of the Fluvanna County Rescue Squad is accused of assaulting a rival squad member and police say her weapon of choice was an ambulance.

Thirty-nine-year-old Tammy Smith has been charged with aggravated assault.  According to the police report she purposely clipped a 43-year-old Greene County Rescue Squad driver with the mirror of her ambulance.

It happened in the parking lot of a Charlottesville hospital.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
