RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Just one day after the new law took affect, many area "ABC-stores" took advantage by holding a liquor tasting.
At the ABC store in Carytown - liquor merchants were giving customers a taste of new products, that they might normally not buy. Customers are limited to three, half-ounce drinks. The total tasting samples cannot exceed 1.5 ounces.
For customer Ken Delhagen, it meant an opportunity to sample a brand of rum, that in the future - he might consider buying.
"So, my opinion of this is - it's a good thing. The governor wants to get them privatized, I suppose it's the right decision," said Delhagen.
ABC will post a list of liquor tasting events and locations on its website each week.
