HENRICO, VA - The son of the chief justice of the Virginia Supreme Court is facing charges stemming from an armed home invasion.

Henrico County police say Leroy Hassell, Jr., 23, of the 13300 block of Teasdale Court, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Police say in the afternoon of June 28th, officers responded to the 2100 block of Libbie Avenue for a robbery. The victim told police that two black males forced themselves into the residence. Police say the suspects used a baton and a gun to assault one of the victims.

Police say Hassell was taken into custody without incident and is being cooperative. More arrests are expected.

Hassell was sentenced in December 2007 to 16 months in jail for falsifying records for forgery and probation violation. The violation was for previous convictions of petit larceny and unlawful entry.
