Preliminary hearing for Glen Fuselier continued

PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - The preliminary hearing for Glen Fuselier Thursday in Petersburg General District Court was continued. The new date is July 16 at 8:30 a.m.

In February, police said 19-year-old Glen Fuselier led officers on a high speed chase after they attempted to stop him for an improper inspection sticker. His fiance's three children, all under the age of four, were strapped in the back seat.

The pursuit ended on I-95 south in Petersburg near the Crater Road exit when Fuselier crashed and rolled his van multiple times. The children were not seriously injured in the crash.

Fuselier is facing several charges including felony capital murder and felony eluding police. It will be determined if there is enough evidence to send the case to the Grand Jury.

Since questions were raised about Fuselier's mental state, he underwent a competency evaluation. He has been found competent to stand trial in both General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations for the three felony counts of child endangerment.
