RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Chester-based business Uppy's convenience stores has been sold.

The Times-Dispatch reports that private-equity firm Catterton Partners, through its mid-Atlantic convenience stores, bought Uppy's for an undisclosed amount.

No word if the new company plans to keep Uppy's name.

Uppy's partners with Martin's popular gas discount, "Fuel-Perks!" program; Martin's has not commented on whether the sale would affect the program.
