UPDATE: Plane crashes outside town of Louisa

LOUISA, VA (WWBT) - A plane crashed into a field outside the town of Louisa in Louisa County just before noon today.

The aircraft is a single-engined propeller driven Aeronca 11AC-106 which stuck some powerlines and crash landed on its roof, according to State Police. The crash caused some minor power outages, which have since been restored.

The only person on board was the pilot, who was taken to The University of Virginia Medical Center with unknown injuries.
