Whole Foods Market plans community garden

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Whole Foods Market Store in Short Pump is getting ready to start a community garden on the same site as its store.

The garden will serve as a produce supplier to the store.

Local Richmond organization Backyard Farmer will maintain the garden.

It's almost one acre in size and Whole Foods Market has future plans of expanding the plot to as many as six acres.

If that happens, it will make it the largest whole foods market-affiliated community garden in the nation.
