Police investigate overnight armed robbery

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - Police are investigating an armed robbery in Chesterfield County.

Investigators have several questions they're trying to answer in this case, and the victim is lucky to be alive.

It happened around 10:30 last night in the 3400 block of Meadowdale Boulevard at the Regency Lake Apartments.

Police say a man was walking to his car when two men with a gun robbed him. The victim was then shot, but police aren't sure with what kind of gun. They're trying to figure out if it was a handgun or some type of air pistol, similar to a pellet gun.

The two men ran off with an unknown amount of cash.

Police locked down the area for a while and brought out the K-9 unit to find the robbers, but they had no luck.

The victim has a wound over his eye, but didn't need to go to the hospital.

If you know anything that can help police call Crime Solvers at 748-0660.
