RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A popular Ashland barbecue restaurant could be closing by the end of this summer.

The Times-Dispatch reports if a buyer is not found to rescue the Smokey Pig restaurant and its catering operations, the owners will close up in August.

That would mean 32 people will lose their jobs.

The catering business would close at the end of September.

The owners say the economy has taken a toll on sales. The business, land and building is on the market for $1.4 million.

The Smokey Pig started business in 1978.
