HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Traffic is moving again on Interstate 295 after a tractor trailer explosion.
It happened after 8:15 Tuesday morning just south of the Varina-Enon Bridge.
The driver crossed the bridge and noticed his fuel tank came off. He then tried to pull over -- and that's when the fire started.
He told NBC12 what he was thinking when it all happened.
"I was just thinking of getting out so I can see my kids. I don't think I was thinking," said driver Paul Heims, Jr.
About 100 gallons of fuel spilled. No one was injured.
