RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Richmond police say there was no chase involved in a fatal motorcycle accident in the Church Hill District.
Thomas Johnson, 27, died at the traffic circle on North 25th Street. Richmond Police Chief Bryan Norwood says the speed of the motorcycle was the main reason for the accident.
He says officer were investigating a report of reckless driving and GPS data shows they never exceeded speeds of 43 miles per hour.
He says his officer also did not violate any policies.
The findings were verified by independent consultants out of Northwestern University.
