Alleged Fort Hood shooter in court

Posted by Iva Radman – email

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Army psychiatrist accused of shooting 13 people at Fort Hood will make his first military court room appearance Tuesday.

The attorney for Major Nidal Hasan seeks to delay the case.

Hasan isn't expected to speak during the hearing. Military prosecutors and defense attorneys instead plan to discuss case preparations.

Hasan was a 1997 Virginia Tech graduate with ties to Northern Virginia.
