STAFFORD, VA (WWBT) - A teenager, once believed to be abducted, is safe in Florida.
The 17-year-old girl was located in Jacksonville with her family just after midnight.
The search for the teen began around 11:30 Saturday morning after several people at a Target store witnessed a startling confrontation.
The girl was walking toward the Target entrance when a man and two women grab her and push her into a green minivan.
According to the Stafford Sheriff's Office, those were her family members forcing her into the van.
Witness accounts gave police the idea that everyone in the car may have known each other.
Police now say the entire incident stemmed from the teen not wanting to move to Fort Lauderdale.
There is an investigation underway to decide if any charges should be filed.
